Museums at Mont Saint Michel

Historical museum

The museum retraces 1000 years of history and work carried out by the monk builders through reconstructions of prisons and dungeons.  Discover the wax models, a collection of ancient objects (arms, paintings, sculptures, watches) as well as instruments of torture from the Middle Ages.  The museum also owns a 19th century periscope through which you can admire the unique panoramic view over the bay.

Maritime and ecology museum

This museum is devoted to the phenomenon of the tides.  To help you understand, an audio video system explains the movements of the tides, the dangers of this beautiful nature and the problems regarding the removal of sand around the Mount.

Archéoscope

The Archéoscope is a unique sound and light show which highlights the singularity of the Mount, its mysteries, history and architecture through multimedia and spectacular special effects.

Logis Tiphaine, historical home of Bertrand Duguesclin

Visit the 15th century house built for the wife of knight Bertrand Duguesclin, leader of the King of France's army, Tiphaine "the gentle fairy".  Learn about their lives in this historical house, home to period furniture, paintings, tapestries as well as Tipahine de Raguenel's astrology study.
